How does content search
work?
Ondix uses advanced search
logic to find what you need. When searching you may input few
different search terms such as title, description, subject,
school and teacher. None of the fields is required to perform
the search. However, for more accurate results it is recommended
to use the title and description field in each search. Based
on the conditions of your search Ondix gives each content a
google-like relevancy index. Content is displayed according
to that index. The content that has the higher relevancy index
will come higher on the search.
Note that the subject,
school, and teacher fields are no-negative-effect fields.
Meaning that whether or not you put anything in them you would
come with the same number of the results. The difference is
that if you do put something in those fields Ondix will attempt
to re-arrange results according to what you inputted.
Ondix does not currently
use bulletin functions such as AND OR -[minus] +[plus] search
exact phrase, search at least one, search without, language
selection, safe search. These functions are in development
and will soon become available to Ondix users.
Why can't I find anything?
Where could be few reasons why
you cannot find what you want. First, we might not have it.
Even though Ondix has a lot of content online, what you are
looking for may not currently be available. In this case,
the best solution is to post a request and then wait for answers.
Second, check your spelling. To preserve the accuracy of our
search, Ondix searches exactly for what you typed. Third,
you might have inputted too many search terms. Try to simplify
your search. Search for keywords rather then for the complete
phrases.
What kind of content is allowed?
If you are an ICP (Independent
Content Provider) and have a question of what you can post,
please refer to this document,
else let us rephrase the question: "what could be found
on Ondix". There is virtually unlimited number of topics
that could be found on Ondix. Most of those topics are usually
college-education-related. The good examples are term papers,
test answers, essays, quizzes, problem solutions and similar.
